Photographing a maternity session in the blossoms just seems so perfectly appropriate. The symbolism of new life is so beautiful plus it makes an incredible backdrop. Just being in the orchards at sunset, the scent of the flowers wafting on the light breeze - it’s awe-inspiring. I will never get over the fact that I get to live in such a spectacular place. Vineland is a small town that is so incredibly bountiful, with its vineyards and orchards and farmers fields everywhere. I hope to shoot a few sessions in these stunning blossoming orchards every year!
Even better when the subjects are my family! My brother Brendon and his wife Maddy are expecting their second little miracle, this time a little boy! We really cannot wait to meet him! I think their love and excitement and overall joy shows through in these images- which made it incredibly hard to choose which ones to share here.

My baby sister just celebrated her first Mothers Day… that’s kind of hard to believe when I can remember the day that she was born herself. Am I really that old already?! Haha.
I know Taylor and Owen will make amazing parents and I’m so thankful to God for bringing this precious gift into their lives. Their maternity session was full of love and excitement and wonder… the thought of a tiny human being formed within his mothers womb by our loving Father… it’s incredibly awe inspiring! They can’t wait to see his little face and hold him and love on him… none us can. I hope to share some of his newborn images soon!

My first impression of Kaitlynn was that she was a woman with a kind, loving heart. And that impression only grew in the time I photographed her maternity session. I know that she will make a wonderful mama and that this baby is already so blessed. I’m so glad I was able to create these images for her and her family to forever remember this time by.

This was more than a maternity session capturing a mothers new shape. As beautiful as that alone can be, this was more. Knowing that she was preparing to welcome her last child to their family, Jennifer was emotional, connected, and so in touch with this moment in time. It was really beautiful to witness. After experiencing the loss of a child previously, the time of waiting for their rainbow baby is so much more precious. It was such a joy to create these images for her family to keep for their future generations, to tell their life’s story and their love for each other.

This maternity session was honestly a blast! Staci and her hubby claim to be no good in front of a camera but their relaxed attitude and super fun personalities made for really beautiful portraits! Staci and two of her friends have had babies this year and I photographed all their maternity and newborn sessions- I consider myself so blessed to be able to work with them. They’re all beautiful girls and it’s really cool to see them becoming mothers together. Satci- can’t wait to meet your little one soon!

I believe Canada is the most beautiful country in the world. We have mountains and prairies, rivers and oceans, forests and waterfalls, orchards and vineyards. No matter where you travel you are certain to find views that take your breath away. If ever you visit our area in the spring, you will be blown away by the beauty of flowering trees everywhere you go. Rows after rows of fruit trees are blooming in shades of pink and white and its beauty is undeniable. When Stacey contacted me about photographing her maternity session in the orchards, I couldn’t have been happier. We managed to get out on the only day the rain stopped and the sun brought its own magic to the images.

Given the timeless gift of photography, Robyn will now have beautiful maternity and newborn portraits to forever remember this special time by. It can sound so cliche, but man- this is a beautiful time for any woman. Pregnancy changes us, so that we don’t recognize our own bodies, our own emotions. We are becoming this entirely new PERSON, a mother, and it’s foreign and new but it’s welcomed. Inside our wombs there is a tiny human, being knit together just perfectly. And we have been chosen. Chosen to bring this baby into this world and raise him up. It’s more than an honor, it’s our calling. I can’t wait to see Robyn next time, with her newborn baby boy. I can only imagine the joy he will bring her!

It is my goal to make all my mamas look and feel absolutely amazing when they are in my studio for maternity or newborn sessions and Erin is a big part of that.
